I don’t think the vast majority of Christians (especially white ones) can understand how carefully and deliberately Jews temper our language about the Christians who live around us, specifically because y’all have the advantages of numbers.

Including Rabbi Harvey. Including me. https://t.co/enkJpEVqqY

Jewish anger and trauma is policed by societal Christianity so rigorously that it can almost never be publicly expressed fully the way it deserves to be, because the consequences are immediate and brutal.

I almost lost my account because I dared to tell a pack of Christians that Martin Luther was an immoral antisemite.

Before that I was brigaded by dozens of white military historians because I told a white podcaster who recreated a photo of her Nazi grandfather to go to hell.

And this includes the Christians who attend churches with rainbow flags outside the doors, and signs on the lawn that say ‘God is radical love.’

None of you like being lumped in with Christian fascism, sure, but more often than not your response is to lash out at Jewish platform

There’s absolutely no reason that any Jew, especially a rabbi, should have his life, livelihood, career, and safety threatened because he tweeted in anger about the institution of Christianity in a way that hurt your delicate feelings.
