Some weeks ago I received a DM from a young women who asked me about becoming a writer. I made a number of suggestions and pointed her toward some magazines which had writers I suggested she read. I thought no more about it but then some days later...

..she wrote a follow up DM asking for my email and saying she wanted to send me an example of something she had written and would I review it. This is not an unusual request and I gave her details of my 'burner' email I use for anonymous communication...

..she immediately emailed me asking me to have dinner with her. I wrote back, politely saying I was flattered but happily married and did not meet single women unknown to me. She asked me again enclosing a provocative photo. I did what any husband would do at this point...

..showed the entire exchange to my wife, including my last email asking the girl to no longer contact me. My wife then called it correctly,
"She will now become angry, young girls do not like rejection, they take it as an insult"

How right she was....

I was bombarded with emails and DM messages insulting me, abusing me and with numerous threats. Obviously I blocked her but that has not stopped her creating many new Twitter profiles and email addresses to continue the abuse. My wife and then daughters confirmed that indeed...

..many young women have no experience of rejection, they are personally insulted if a man turns them down, in their minds they are "a 10" a woman who every man wants and the concept of fidelity and commitment to another is alien to them. She simply could not understand...

..how I, a man, could say no to her. My youngest daughter says she has seen this on-line women who make the most outrageous and untrue allegations against men because they are unable to deal with the hit to their egos that a rejection represents.

The women in question will....

..I'm sure, feel they are in the right, that to be rejected is an insult to them.

I'm just happy I found a wife many years ago.
