Loads of new stuff in this Newsweek story, which used two anon sources - officials with "direct knowledge."

1. The search warrant was to retrieve classified 'national defense information' that Trump was holding illegally.

2. They'd been preparing for weeks to execute a search warrant at MAL. But the FBI Miami Field Office and Washington headquarters "were focused on the former president's scheduled return to Florida from his residences in New York and New Jersey."

3. A grand jury was convened in late April. Prosecutors presented copies of the documents they had already retrieved from Trump in January. Based on that, the grand jury concluded Trump violated the law.

4. The affidavit for the search warrant, which was obtained within the last week "contained abundant and persuasive detail that Trump continued to possess the relevant records in violation of federal law."

They showed the judge proof of which safe and room the records were in.

Concerning the sources - one is a current DOJ official, a 30-year FBI veteran. The other is described as a "senior intelligence official."

And it appears that much of the information was obtained from an FBI confidential informant.

Since this person knew the exact room the records were in, I'd have to guess it's someone who spends a significant amount of time in Mar-a-Lago. Maybe an employee? Or a family member?
